General Information for Staff Team Applicants
(DRAFT)
Applicants:
Applicants need to be over 16. Young workers are aged
from 16 to 17 years & Adult Workers are aged 18 years
and over. All applicants must have read and agreed to
abide by the New Wine Cymru Child Protection Policy.
Young Workers:
Young workers must have a parent or guardian (aged 18
years, or over) staying on-site at Flames of Fire
who will be responsible for them. Please ensure that the
parent or guardian, of any Young Worker, completes the
YOUNG WORKER section of the worker application form
before it is returned to us, as New Wine Cymru cannot
process applications from young people without parental
consent. Please ensure that your parent/guardian reads
the responsibilities fully and knows and accepts what
they are signing up to. Churches or groups must not
‘allocate’ a responsible adult to a young worker.
Adult Workers:
If you have parental responsibilities for, or are in
loco parentis of children (under 18 years) on-site
you may need to arrange for child-care cover, as you may
not be available to collect your children from their
groups and supervise them, whilst working on team. If
this applies to you, please ensure you complete the
ADULT WORKERS’ section of the worker application form.
Medical Conditions:
If you have a medical condition, please ensure that you
inform us of it in the YOUR HEALTH section of the worker
application form. Please ensure that you inform the
first aider, attached to your team, of your condition.
It is also your responsibility to register with the
first aid centre on-site, so that they are aware of your
requirements. If you are a Young Worker, your
responsible adult must accompany you to register.
References:
In the REFERENCES section of the worker application form
all applicants are asked to supply the names of two
referees (not parents or relatives) who New Wine Cymru
can approach for verbal or written references, or for
feedback.
One of these should be a church leader preferably one
who oversees your involvement in a Ministry. If you are
applying to work on a team which you have worked on
previously, only one reference is required.
Child Protection Policy:
This policy is about safeguarding the welfare of
children and young people at New Wine Cymru events and
for your own protection. Please read the Child
Protection Policy thoroughly and be sure to fill in and
sign sections 14 and 15 of the application form.
Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Check:
If you apply to serve on some of the teams you will be
asked to apply to the CRB for a “Disclosure”. To do this
proof of your identity and where you live will be
required. New Wine Cymru will contact you after we have
received a completed application form to tell you how to
apply for Disclosure. Please ensure that the first
referee on your form is a Minister of Religion who knows
you (NB: we cannot accept Youth Workers, Administrators
or other church workers for this referee, only your
Minister). If you have received a Disclosure from New
Wine Cymru already, then it remains valid for three
years.
More information on the Disclosure system can be
obtained from the CRB at
www.disclosure.gov.uk.
Please note:
A criminal record does not necessarily bar you from
working on a Team; each case will be assessed on an
individual basis.
Concessions:
Staff members can receive concessions on registration
fees at the conference and some staff are provided with
free meals. Please contact your team leader for details.
Worker Start and End Dates:
Staff members are requested to arrive on-site at least
the day before the conference starts. This enables staff
to get settled in, assist with set up and attend the
team training sessions, prior to the start of the
conference. At the end of the conference, any workers
who can assist with break down will be greatly
appreciated.
Accommodation:
Staff are responsible for providing their own
accommodation and transport, to and from the event. If
you have problems regarding accommodation, please
contact the New Wine Cymru Office.
Team Leaders:
Staff are responsible to their Team Leaders and are
expected to undertake duties and tasks working as part
of a Christian team under the leadership of their Team
Leaders.
Team Meetings:
All workers will be required to attend a team meeting at
the beginning of the week and any other meetings
organized by the team leader during the event. |
