New Wine Cymru 2008 - Facilities

ONSITE FACILITIES

Disability facilities
- This is a large, mainly level site, with straightforward wheelchair access to all areas.  There is a hearing loop and a speech to text service (see below).

Marketplace - A Marketplace within the complex offers many trade and mission stalls, with a bookshop selling a wide range of Christian books, CDs, tapes, gifts, etc.  Whenever possible, speakers are recorded and these CD's will be available to buy throughout the week.

Refreshments - A Cafe and Restaurant will offer a wide variety of refreshments to suit most pockets, ranging from snacks to three-course meals.

Speech to Text Service
At New Wine Cymru a Speech to Text service is provided.  Speech to Text is a '"live subtitling" type service for those who are hearing impaired, and indeed is very useful to anyone who can read English.  It is provided via a stenography machine which enables the writer to type words at a time instead of letters at a time, where speeds of up to 240 words per minute can be achieved.  The words are projected onto a screen for everyone to read.  This screen is situated at the front of the hall to enable access for anyone who needs it.

In addition to this service being provided live, transcripts of seminars can be saved and these can be sold on.  The price for the whole week's transcripts are 15, or a set of morning or evening transcripts for 8, Single Seminars 2.50.  Transcripts can be e-mailed, saved on CD or transferred to a USB pen drive at the conference. For those who have no access to computers, transcripts can be printed at a cost of 10p per A4 sheet at the Conference.

All Bible Studies in the Main Hall will be subtitled, however only certain seminars will be covered unless specifically requested.

If you didn't manage to order last year's transcripts and would like a copy, please e-mail us with your request.
